Lighting Assistants

In some venues or in poor weather, additional lighting may be recommended.

A second light can provide more artfully captured images by adding light from different angles and our assistants work in concert with the primary photographer.   Family portraits on location and event photography can both benefit from a lighting assistant.

Lighting assistant fees: $100/hr minimum 3 hours

Christopher Jennette

Lighting Assistant

Photo of Chris Jennette lighting assistantChris is Susan’s oldest of 3 sons and has been assisting at weddings since he was a teenager. He is familiar with the needs of the primary photographer and the flow of a traditional wedding day.

From parking the car at the church to keeping back-up equipment at hand, he moves throughout the event intuitively with the primary photographer, mostly providing side angles of light for amazing effects.

Chris can also be available on short notice when poor weather moves photography indoors and more lighting equipment is needed.

Toby Crowley

Lighting Apprentice

Lighting apprentice Toby CrowleyToby is the youngest member of our team at 12 years old, and is an experienced and helpful assistant!

He helps with the lighting equipment at family portraits on location when there is a long walk to the capture destination or when the wind presents an equipment challenge for the primary photographer in an open space.

Toby is great with young children, getting them to smile, laugh and play on the beach.

As an apprentice, there are never added charges for his assistance.
