The studio portrait allows controlled lighting and studio backgrounds, great for children and pets off-season, or for a more formal or profession look.

Traditional portraits for publicity, or of pets, babies, pregnant portraits, and themed portraits such as in a dance costume are often best taken in the controlled environment of a studio.

Up to 8 people will fit in our studio.  For a larger group we will find a larger nearby venue for a studio portrait set up.

We have a selection of backgrounds, black or white draped silk, classic painted backgrounds, and dyed muslins.  Studio portraits are fairly quick and easy, without too much modeling expected from our subjects.  A classic, traditional style is what we specialize in.

Enjoy one wedding, start to finish, with the bride getting ready at home, a lovely ceremony in Saint Joan of Arc Church, Portraits of Bride & Groom at Skaket Beach and more portraits and reception candids at the Captain Linnell House in Orleans.

Reserve your date!

Once you have established our availability for your wedding date, a $500 deposit reserves the date, and is deducted from your contract cost. ($300 for small packages).

You are invited to visit the studio by appointment to meet the photographer, discuss your plans and see the album styles and other presentation products available to you after the wedding.

As a family photographer, we’re used to working with families of all sizes, and our approach varies, depending on the number of people in your group.

The natural settings of Cape Cod offer many opportunities for photos you’ll treasure.

Small Family Photography

When we do portraits of families of under 6 people, we’ll offer to capture not just the entire family group, but also a variety of additional shots such as individual portraits of children, couples, and combinations of Mom or Dad with kid(s). Dogs and horses are welcome, too!

After the important posed portraits are taken, we can take candid shots of young children playing in the sand or surf.

Large Family Photography

Whether your extended family is only together on rare occasions or every weekend,
a family portrait on location is a great way to preserve this moment in time!

We will photograph the largest group first, then break it down to smaller family groups, just children, children with grandparents, or any other groups, couples or individuals you may want.

As the light softens in the evening, we may regroup the entire family again for a second pose option.

Bring along the family dog, and be sure to plan coordinated clothing for the best results.

The Selection Process

Viewing your images- The Studio Viewing Session

You will be invited back to the studio the next day, or when you have an hour,  to view your edited images with special print rates and valuable input from the photographer about which are the best images and what can be done to enhance and display them.

Print rates at this studio viewing session are reduced by 15% –  including all reprints up to 8×10, and wall portraits 11×14 and up.

Retouching, framing, shipping, and other services

We provide  photo retouching, framing and shipping, and the finished products will be delivered within a few weeks after your session.

We offer online proofing, too

Online proofing can be purchased ($150 print order deposit) and allows you to continue ordering and share your portraits with family members and friends.

Capturing images of your children in their adorable and fleeting stages of growth
is a special joy for us, especially in these beautiful Cape Cod surroundings!

The wall portraits you may purchase will become more valuable to you every year
as your children grow and mature.

As this summer quickly becomes a distant memory the photographs become cherished reminders.

High School Seniors deserve a special portrait before graduation. Your high school senior portrait can be used for yearbook as well as print packages for family and friends.

We will photograph the high school student at a local Cape Cod beach at sunset, at home, at school, on a ball field, in a theatre, or in the studio.

We encourage you to bring along props and outfits that reflect your interests, including pets, sports equipment and musical instruments. Allow about 40 minutes for this session.

After the Session: Selecting the Photos

A viewing appointment will be arranged in the studio at your convenience in the days after the session.

A variety of shots are taken including close ups and full length portraits.

You may want to change clothes during the session, or keep it simple with just one outfit.

We recommend solid color clothing, but we also know that students love to express themselves in their wardrobe, so anything goes for this session!

Our Print Packages are created in popular size combinations, but we are happy to make substitutions or customize a print package for you!

More Than Just Photos

We can make albums, key chains, mouse pads, book marks, puzzles,  hand bags and several other novelty products from your favorite images!

Susan has donated specified photography services to the Harwich Public Schools, the Harwich Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Harwich Chamber of Commerce and the Brewster Baptist Church.

To show our support to the men and women of our Armed Forces, we offer a 10% discount on any wedding package or family portrait sitting when there is a family member who is currently serving in any branch of the U.S. Military or has been within the last 5 years.
